
Exercises For Your Menstrual Cycle!
Sometimes we feel very energtic and strong because of the effects of the hormones during menstrual cycle. We feel the need to use that energy for good. Maybe we dance, get a gym membership, watch workout videos and try to do it and for a while we actually workout regularly. Sometimes we don't want to to anything, we start not to go to the gym or move at all. We just want to lay down, sleep and be a little lazy. The reason for these ups and downs is, as we all women know, our hormones and their effects on our moods.:) The researchs shows that our workout plans should support our mental and physical health during menstural cycles. Even the world-wide famous female basketball and football teams arrange their training based on the player's cycles. So, I am going to share some exercises you can do in every stage of your cycle:
💤 Period Time:
Your body already uses tons of energy for uterus wall. This is the time that your energy is lowest. That's why period time is not a good time to do heavy workouts. You should prefer a calm walk or laying down. Also, yin yoga, meditation, breathing exercises can decrease the flow and the pain of the cramps. It's important to let your body rest, renew, heal so it could get back it's energy.
💃🏻 Follicular (Free) Stage:
This is the time after the period. We see the increase of the estrogen and testosterone hormones. That's why we feel stronger than ever. Cardio, brisk walking, cycling, and dancing can be good during this period of time. You can get your energy out and you'll be supporting your mental and physical health at the same time.
🚲 Ovulation:
Estrogen and testostreone reaches their highest point. With the increase of these hormones, your libido increases too. Intense workouts, cardio yoga or having sex can help and balance this hormonal increase.
🏋🏼♀️ Luteal Phase (PMS):
These are the days where our PMS begins. Decrease of estrogen and testosterone causes tiredness, sassiness, headaches, anxiety. Metabolism is faster during this phase. We eat more and burn calories even more. We tend to eat chocolates, desserts. Instead of that, we can do exercises that can calm the mind and the body. Like, pilates or power yoga. Try to feed your body with these exercises, try to take care of yourself, try to eat healthier and do not forget to love yourself. :)
