How to Find Your Skin Undertone?

What is a skin undertone?

Unlike your skin color, which can change with the sun or seasons, your undertone is the subtle hue beneath your skin. It generally remains more constant and is categorized as warm, cool, or neutral. There’s also the olive undertone, which has greenish-gray pigments.

5 Easy Ways to Determine Your Skin Undertone

  • Check your veins: Green → warm; blue/purple → cool; both colors → you might be neutral.

  • Try the jewelry test: If gold makes you glow, you’re warm; if silver looks better, you’re cool; if both suit you, you could be neutral.

  • Hold a white paper to your face: If your skin looks yellow/peach, you’re warm; if it appears pink/red, you’re cool; if there’s no clear difference, you might be neutral.

  • Observe how you tan: If you tan easily, you may have a warm undertone; if you burn easily, it could indicate a cool undertone.

  • Examine your wardrobe: If earthy and coral tones brighten you up, you’re warm; if blues, plums, and cool pinks look better, you’re cool; if both groups work for you, you might be neutral.

Don’t rely on just one test; consider the results together.
