One-Sided Friendship

Does your friendship feel one-sided? Pay attention to these signs:

1- You’re always the one initiating contact. You’re the one sending messages, making plans, and keeping the relationship alive.

2- The emotional burden is all on you. You listen to their problems, but when it’s your turn to talk, the subject changes.

3- They’re only around when it’s convenient for them. They reach out to fill a gap in their life. You’re not a priority; you’re an option.

4- They have time for others but not for you. They say they’re busy, yet you see them active with others on Instagram.

5- It’s draining and leaves you feeling depleted. Being the constant giver has left you tired and hurt.

If you find yourself in a one-sided friendship, what can you do? Start an open conversation and express your feelings honestly. Their responses can give you insight into whether they’re aware of the situation and, more importantly, if they’re willing to work on it. Remember, you can’t force someone to be a good friend. If they don’t care, know that you deserve better. After all, friendship isn’t something one person should carry alone.
